Jakarta-based photographer Herman Damar captures simple colourfully village moments: children’s laughter, the charm of Indonesian tradition, Indonesia nationalism and the villagers’ warm smiles.
Herman, who also works as an art director, says his love for Indonesia got him involved in the photography scene.
“I want to capture Indonesian natural beauty and its people’s daily lives – especially the children,” he says.
Through his photographs, it seems that Herman wants to tell a story about the diversity and hospitality of Indonesian people. His shots are simple yet poetic. He searches for his subjects in villages and places such as Kepulauan Seribu, Jakarta and Situ Gunung in West Java, Indonesia.
